How Upper Cervical Chiropractic Works

A Smarter, More Precise Approach to Healing

OUR APPROACH

Maximize your life with reduced time spent at the chiropractor.

At Georgia Upper Cervical Chiropractic, our goal is simple: help you heal faster, without unnecessary treatments or lifelong chiropractic care.

Using advanced Orthospinology techniques, we focus on correcting the root cause of your condition so your body can function and heal the way it was designed to.

Your body is far more resilient than most people realize. Many of our patients come to us dealing with symptoms like facial pain, dizziness, anxiety, digestive issues, and more, not just neck or back pain, often without clear answers.

If that sounds familiar, it may be time to look beyond symptom-based care and address the underlying cause.

Our approach is designed to deliver precise, effective corrections that help you spend less time in the office and more time living your life, by stabilizing your spine and reducing the need for ongoing, unnecessary visits.

Ready to Get to the Root of Your Problem with Chiropractic Care?

We’re currently accepting new patients at our Ball Ground office.

Watch our unique approach to chiropractic care from start to finish…

Our processes offer you the cutting-edge in total brain-body healing.

When you visit our chiropractor, don’t expect your neck to get “cracked.”

We use the latest advancements in imaging and computer software to visualize the upper cervical spine, then carefully analyze the images to determine your problem’s specific nature.

Once the misalignment is measured, we calculate and deliver a vector force via instrument assistance. Instrument-assisted correction is gentle, precise, and repeatable, without unnecessary twisting, popping, or cracking.

We don’t just pop your neck and/or back over and over.

Orthospinology adjustments and corrections allow patients to develop a stronger and more stable spine when compared to standard chiropractic adjustments. Once strengthened and stabilized, your spine actually maintains itself and doesn’t need to be adjusted over and over unless it becomes misaligned again.

That’s why we don’t adjust patients at every office visit.

The best surgeons aren’t the ones making the most incisions. The same can be said for chiropractic; the best chiropractors aren’t the ones performing the most adjustments.

Instead, we perform simple neurological assessments at each visit. If the spine is in its optimal position, we leave it alone.

After all… If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

We’ll get your spine stable and strong in the fewest number of adjustments and visits possible. This treatment has a high success rate with no side effects. Plus, your spinal health will continue to improve without unnecessary adjustments!

We believe patient education should be a priority.

An educated patient is a thriving one.

Almost every patient who walks through our doors experiences frequent pain. But pain is more complex than many people realize, it’s not just a signal of tissue damage, it’s also your body’s built-in alarm system designed to protect you.

Over the course of your care, you’ll learn what pain actually is and how to better understand your body’s responses.

Our founding chiropractor, Dr. Ryan Klopfer, specializes in translating pain neuroscience into clear, practical insights. By understanding your medical history and personal pain patterns, he helps you make sense of what your body is telling you.

When you understand the purpose of pain, you can respond to it with confidence, knowing when to push through, when to seek help, and when it’s something in between.

Ultimately, our goal is to help you take back control of your health, so you rely on us less over time, not more.

Causes of Spinal Misalignment

Your vertebrae may be misaligned due to factors such as:

Slips and falls

Car accidents

Blows to the head

Excessive computer work

Consistently cradling a cell phone to one ear

Sports injuries

Traumatic trampoline landings

Traumatic birthing experiences

In many cases, physical childhood trauma (even from birth) leads to system-wide health concerns that can be addressed with proper chiropractic care.

Why the Upper Cervical Spine Matters

The upper cervical spine is one of the body’s most important and neurologically sensitive regions.

Below are a couple of unique features that distinguish the area from the rest of the spine:

Emerging research confirms that this area is vulnerable to misalignment and injury from traumatic forces such as slips, falls, and automobile accidents.

These injuries to the spine can especially occur during childhood, from something as common as a traumatic birthing process to a high-impact trampoline incident.

We believe these upper neck disruptions can disrupt its sensitive nature and alter the body’s central nervous system.

How Does Upper Cervical Chiropractic Help?

Chiropractic care works by restoring proper spinal alignment, reducing pressure on the nervous system so your body can heal naturally.

At Georgia Upper Cervical Chiropractic, we use Orthospinology, a precise, research-based technique focused on the upper cervical spine, the top two vertebrae that directly influence brain and nervous system function.

This approach targets:

  • Atlas (C1)

  • Axis (C2)

  • Occipital bone (base of the skull)

By correcting misalignment in this critical area, we support better communication between the brain and body, without aggressive adjustments.

Upper cervical care is targeted, highly specific, and designed for long-term results, often requiring fewer visits over time.
