How this is different from other chiropractic?
We understand how frustrating and exhausting it can be going from doctor to doctor without any answers or relief. Some doctors may even dismiss your symptoms or tell you "it's not real". We want to do the opposite. We want to hear your story and the symptoms that are concerning for you. Dr. Ryan's extensive training and experience will help you understand your symptoms, obtain relief, and help you develop a plan to stay out of the doctor’s office.

Many of our patients feel symptomatic relief within 24 to 48 hours. On average, we see a complex patient 6 to 10 visits over a 90-day period. The better you respond and improve, the less we see you.

What to expect
Five steps, start to finish. You will know the cost and the number of visits before anything starts.
Consult & physical exam
30 to 45 minutes. We go through your whole history, including everything you have already tried, and examine the entire spine.
X-ray imaging
Precise upper cervical X-rays, so the misalignment can be measured rather than guessed at.
Adjustment and initial treatment
Each patient receives a unique correction, done by our table-mounted instrument or a handheld device. We do not stress your neck to any extreme ranges.
Post X-rays, same day
We re-image our work before you leave to confirm whether or not we have made a satisfactory correction to the spine. We review these results with you the same day.
7 day check-up
A week later, we check your progress and how well the spine is strengthening and stabilizing. After that, our rule of thumb is a “doubling of time”: 1 week to 2 weeks, 2 to 4 weeks, then 4 to 8 weeks. On average, patients are seen 6 to 10 times over about 90 days.

Upper cervical chiropractic focuses on the skull and the top two bones of the neck, the atlas (C1) and axis (C2), and how they affect the body's mechanics and nervous system. At Georgia Upper Cervical Chiropractic we assess and correct the spine with the Chiropractic Orthospinology procedure, and we take follow-up imaging to confirm the correction was made.

Yes. Chiropractors earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), a four-year postgraduate degree, and pass national board exams and state licensing. Dr. Ryan graduated from Life University with a Doctor of Chiropractic (December 2016) and a Master's in Sports Injury Management (September 2017).

No. Chiropractic Orthospinology uses a table-mounted instrument or a handheld device to correct the spine. There's no twisting, popping or cracking.
Many of our patients came to us because they were afraid of forceful adjustments, or because they stopped responding to traditional chiropractic care and want to keep avoiding drugs and surgery.
It starts with a free 30-minute consultation with Dr. Ryan to see whether you're a candidate for care and whether your condition is something we can help with.
If you are, the first full visit takes 45 to 60 minutes: a detailed history, range-of-motion analysis, leg-length and pelvic assessment, orthopedic and neurological testing, and 3-D X-ray imaging. Your second visit is the report of findings and your first correction. The second visit is included in the $595 new patient fee.
Usually not. The doctor needs time to study your X-rays and work out the right plan. In some cases the doctor can make a judgment call and provide care the same day, usually for patients who travel from out of state or are in significant pain.
Most of our patients come to us after other care hasn't done the job, or when they're facing surgery. Massage, PT and traditional adjustments can work, but if the root cause isn't addressed, those gains fade because the real problem is still there. We look at more than your spine, including the lifestyle factors that affect your condition.
Most care plans run 6 to 10 visits over about 90 days, spaced further apart as you respond. We don't do three times a week, or weekly forever.
Once your symptoms have recovered and your spine is stronger, it's up to you whether you come in for maintenance care or call us if something comes up. If you'd like to stay ahead of problems, maintenance visits range from once a month to once every 3 to 6 months, depending on your condition and how much you want to manage on your own.
Patients come to us from Alpharetta, Canton, Cumming, Roswell, Woodstock and across North Georgia, and some travel from out of state. They make the drive because we give clear, upfront recommendations with a good chance of success, and 6 to 10 visits take less time overall than months of weekly adjustments closer to home.

Wherever you go, ask about the new patient fee, what it includes and what each visit costs after that. The office should also be able to give you a rough number of visits based on patients with your condition. If they only say "everyone is different" and won't give you an estimate over the phone, they're not being as transparent as they could be.
