Live your best life with less time at the chiropractor.

Did you know that your body is capable of healing itself? Our bodies are much tougher and more resilient than what traditional medicine has led us to believe.

Patients often come to us with complaints of facial pain, dizziness, feeling anxious & depressed, digestive issues, and more. It’s not all about neck and back pain!

Does that sound like you?

You might need a root-cause solution in the form of upper cervical chiropractic.

Our goal is to perform the fewest amount of adjustments in the fewest amount of visits during the course of your treatment.

Ready to get to the root of your problem with chiropractic care? We’re currently accepting new patients at our Ball Ground and Atlanta/Decatur offices.

Our processes offer you the cutting-edge in total brain-body healing.

We use the latest advancements in imaging and computer software to visualize the upper cervical spine, then carefully analyze the images to determine your problem’s specific nature.

Once the misalignment is measured, we calculate and deliver a vector force via instrument assistance. Instrument-assisted correction is gentle, precise, and repeatable — without unnecessary twisting, popping, or cracking.

Watch our unique approach to chiropractic care from start to finish…

We don’t just pop your neck and/or back over and over.

Orthospinology adjustments and corrections allow patients to develop a stronger and more stable spine when compared to standard chiropractic adjustments. Once strengthened and stabilized, your spine actually maintains itself and doesn’t need to be adjusted over and over unless it becomes misaligned again.

That’s why we don’t adjust patients at every office visit.

Patient receiving treatment at Ball Ground Upper Cervical Chiropractic

The best surgeons aren’t the ones making the most incisions. The same can be said for chiropractic; the best chiropractors aren’t the ones performing the most adjustments.

Instead, we perform simple neurological assessments at each visit. If the spine is in its optimal position, we leave it alone.

After all… If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

We’ll get your spine stable and strong in the fewest number of adjustments and visits possible. This treatment has a high success rate with no side effects. Plus, your spinal health will continue to improve without unnecessary adjustments!

We believe patient education should be a priority.

An educated patient is a thriving one.

Almost every patient who walks through our doors experiences frequent pain. But pain is more complex than many people realize at first — it’s not just the signal of tissue damage; it’s also the alarm system your body uses to protect you from harm.

Over the course of 6 or more visits, you’ll learn about what pain actually is and how to better understand your body’s pain responses.

Our founding chiropractor, Dr. Ryan Klopfer, is highly experienced in helping translate neuroscience research into easy-to-understand concepts for his patients.

Using your individual medical history and getting to know your personal pain experiences, Dr. Ryan will help you navigate your healing body’s responses.

When you understand the purpose and reality of pain, you’ll understand what to do when you experience pain in the future. Is it something to power through, a signal that you need immediate help, or something in between?

You’ll benefit from the latest advances in pain neuroscience as you learn how your body is resilient and powerful.

And ultimately, you’ll be back in the driver’s seat of your own body. We want to see you return to our office less in the future, not more!

We’d rather have you outside talking about us, than inside talking to us.

Causes of Spinal Misalignment

Your vertebrae may be misaligned due to factors such as:

  • Consistently cradling of a cell phone to one ear
  • Sports injuries
  • Traumatic trampoline landings
  • Traumatic birthing experiences

In many cases, physical childhood trauma (even from birth) leads to system-wide health concerns that can be addressed with proper chiropractic care.

I love Dr. Ryan because I have to see him so INfrequently! I have chronic back issues and before, I had to visit a “regular” chiropractor every single week, sometimes twice a week, sometimes twice in one day! My life has changed in so many ways . . . it no longer has to revolve around pain or appointments, or not doing what I want to do! I’m free to live!

I have enjoyed being a patient at Ball Ground Upper Cervical Chiropractor. From the first visit, I was treated with care and expertise by Dr. Ryan and his staff. He has helped me back on my feet and able to live life as I was doing before my back injury and later my car accident. I highly recommend Dr. Ryan. Y’all are great. Thank you, Ball Ground Upper Cervical Chiropractor.

Why is the upper cervical spine so important?

The upper cervical spine is one of the body’s most important and neurologically sensitive regions.

Black and white illustration of the upper cervical

Below are a couple of unique features that distinguish the area from the rest of the spine:

  • It houses and protects the merging of significant neuroanatomy: the brain, brainstem, and spinal cord.
  • There is no intervertebral disc with interlocking joints, making it the most mobile area of the spine.

Emerging research confirms that this area is vulnerable to misalignment and injury from traumatic forces such as slips, falls, and automobile accidents.

These injuries to the spine can especially occur during childhood, from something as common as a traumatic birthing process to a high-impact trampoline incident.

We believe these upper neck disruptions can disrupt its sensitive nature and alter the body’s central nervous system.

How does upper cervical chiropractic help?

Chiropractic adjustments (spinal manipulation) are gentle maneuvers that relieve pressure on your spinal cord, allowing your body to naturally heal itself.

At Georgia Upper Cervical, we use chiropractic orthospinology procedures. This research-based technique analyzes the upper cervical spine (your first two vertebrae) and its unique influence over other areas of your spine.

Chiropractic orthospinology is a laser-focused sub-specialty of chiropractic involving:

  • Atlas (C1 vertebra)
  • Axis (C2 vertebra)
  • Occipital bone (base of the skull)

Upper cervical chiropractic is one of the gentlest — and most effective — forms of chiropractic.
