You don’t have to live at the chiropractor’s office — and with the right care, you can still live pain-free.

Our chiropractors use evidence-based treatment plans, 3D imaging, and precise diagnostics to track your progress and help you achieve recovery. We don’t believe in simple pain management. For our patients, we believe in healing.

Here’s why we’re the best chiropractors in Georgia.

Our providers combine orthospinology and pain neuroscience education, along with the most cutting-edge technology in chiropractic care, to improve your quality of life.

The word “doctor” stems from the Latin phrase [dɔˈkeːrɛ], which means to teach.

At Georgia Upper Cervical, we teach you about pain neuroscience and how correcting your spinal misalignment can provide long-lasting relief and, ultimately, complete physical recovery.

Better Results In Less Time

We are dedicated to delivering exceptional chiropractic care and always have the best interests of our patients in mind.

Our goal is to correct your spinal misalignment in the fewest office visits and corrections as possible over the course of your lifetime. Most of our patients are on treatment plans for around 90 days, rather than forever.

We accomplish this by utilizing our specific 3-D imaging and diagnostic system. This procedure allows us to focus specifically on your unique misalignment and removes all guesswork, eliminating unnecessary care and costs.

Dr. Ryan using orthospinology on patient

We’re not afraid of the difficult cases.

We use orthospinology, also known as upper cervical chiropractic, because it offers a path towards real healing.

Using the latest scientific advancements in chiropractic treatment, our gentle adjustments may help with conditions and issues such as:

  • Low back pain, neck pain, leg, hip, and shoulder pain
  • Chronic pain
  • Joint pain
  • Auto accident injuries
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Post-concussion syndrome
  • Vertigo/dizziness
  • Sciatica
  • Dysautonomia/POTS

These core values drive us.

We outlined six values by which we make all decisions about how to live and operate our practice. Each value impacts our clinical treatment, business practices, and personal lives.

  1. To love, to know, and to empower. We offer human-centered care to each patient, because you should be more than a number or filename. Each business system and procedure should be designed to empower the patients we see. What every provider and employee at Georgia Upper Cervical does in their personal time should allow us to fulfill this value to our maximum capacity.
  2. Most effective and most efficient. From cutting-edge treatment to patient education and personal development, we strive to do our best by our patients, business, and ourselves.
  3. Practice what we preach. We know it’s challenging to receive advice from a healthcare provider who is visibly unhealthy, overworked, and miserable. We don’t tell you to, “Do as I say, not as I do.” Instead, we constantly strive to take care of ourselves through eating nutritious foods, overloading our systems with exercise and weight training, and addressing any mental health concerns during adverse life situations.
  4. [dɔˈkeːrɛ]: to teach. Teaching you how your body works and how to understand your condition puts you back in the driver seat. Research demonstrates that education alone can reduce patient symptoms and create long-term health benefits. We want you in control, and the proper education does just that. We teach patients in a way that doesn’t instill fear or uncertainty but empowers you to live to your fullest potential.
  5. Integrity and transparency matter. You’ll never be surprised by hidden fees or “fine print” when you work with a Georgia Upper Cervical chiropractor. From billing to the results we can feasibly produce to what services we offer, we will be transparent and communicate with integrity.
  6. Explore and enjoy your family. Is your health goal to be able to walk around at Disney for five days? Or to do your favorite hiking trail again? We’ll help you get there! Your treatment and recovery should serve an ultimate goal of exploration and having fun with the people you love, not keep you from them.

Meet the GUCC Team

Baxter Smith

I was born in Connecticut but grew up on a small farm outside of Atlanta. As a kid, I played a lot of sports but by high school I played football, soccer, and even did two semesters of dance.

As I was entering college the Beijing Olympics were in full swing. I was captivated by Michael Phelps’ historic performance winning all those gold medals and simply dominating the competition. I marveled at how a human being who walks on land and breathes air could be so adept and comfortable in the water. His body’s ability to adapt to the stresses of training fueled my passion for exercise physiology and the human body.

I found through my studies that exercise and good nutrition were a potent remedy for more than just cardiovascular disease. I learned of the body’s amazing ability to heal itself at the cellular level and grow in the direction of it’s environmental challenges. As we approached graduation, many of my classmates applied to physical therapy and medical schools. I had experience with both as an athlete in my youth, but my trips to the chiropractor always seemed to be the most beneficial. The chiropractors always seemed to know something else that could help me recover and get me back on the field faster.

So I chose to “take my talents” to chiropractic school. From there my world was opened up to the many different techniques and treatment methods available to us as doctors. I always looked for the approach that delivered a long lasting spinal correction with the most specificity and scientific approach.

Upper cervical techniques appealed to me in this way. The upper cervical doctors I spoke with were also able to help so many neurological conditions that many other doctors and chiropractic methods struggled to aid. I knew then that I needed to learn more.

In my spare time I now play guitar, lift weights, play soccer, and visit my friends and family around Atlanta. You can catch me on the hiking trail or at a local brewery. I love all the different neighborhoods in the city and the long warm seasons that allow us to be outside and enjoy being a part of a community.
